Description

The Diablo SV took its name from the legendary Miura SV and was conceived as the more performance-focused version of the Diablo coupé. Inspired by the launch of the 1996 Lamborghini Super Trophy, in which identical race-prepared SV-Rs competed, the road-going SV was designed for drivers who valued pure performance over luxury.

Powered by Lamborghini’s 5.7-litre V12 producing over 500 bhp, the SV could sprint from 0–100 km/h in under 4 seconds and exceed 300 km/h. Distinguishing features included a black rear wing, a redesigned engine cover with twin air scoops, larger cross-drilled brakes, OZ five-spoke alloy wheels, and a revised front spoiler with enlarged brake cooling ducts. Most cars were delivered with black Alcantara interiors and matte black trim.

In total, 346 examples of the Diablo SV were produced. Of these, around 145 were built as the updated 1999 “SV” (MY99), which featured fixed glass-covered headlamps instead of the classic pop-ups, a redesigned interior with dual airbags, new seats, and standard 18-inch wheels with larger perforated brakes and ABS. Engine output for these cars rose to 530 bhp, marked by the inscription “Valve Timing Management” on the intake cover. About 25 of these MY99 cars were US-spec versions, which differed from the European models by having different exhaust systems and headers, modified bumpers with side marker lights, a miles-per-hour speedometer, and distinct front headlamps.

The MY99 Diablo SV represented the last major evolution of the SV before the launch of the Diablo GT, and production ceased in 2000 with only the Diablo VT 6.0 continuing. Today, the SV remains one of the most iconic and driver-focused versions of the Diablo range.

We act as an independent consultant, always on the side of the buyer or seller, and ensure that every decision is based on expert knowledge.

What kind of vehicles does Lemacc specialize in?

We focus on rare and classic sports cars with collector value, particularly models from brands such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Pagani, Porsche, but mainly vintage Lamborghinis.

Can Lemacc help me find a specific car?

Yes. Through our international network and archive, we can locate rare vehicles that are often not available on the open market. We also verify condition, pricing and provenance.

What does the consultation process include?

You receive a detailed assessment of the vehicle’s condition, value potential, and history. We also guide you through restoration decisions, price negotiation and market timing.

What is the commission for buying or selling a car through Lemacc?

The commission for buying or selling a vehicle through Lemacc is calculated as a percentage of the vehicle’s value and depends on the complexity of the transaction and the services required.

We provide full transparency upfront, so our clients are always informed about the fees before proceeding.

Why is originality so important in classic cars?

Original components and patina preserve the vehicle’s story and long-term value. Over-restored vehicles often lose historical authenticity and future appreciation potential.

We evaluate your car, manage professional presentation, and choose the right sales channel – whether private sale, auction or discreet off-market transaction.
