Description

In 1985, Lamborghini introduced the most powerful and advanced version of the Countach to date: the Quattrovalvole, or QV for short. As the name suggests, the legendary V12 engine was equipped with four valves per cylinder for the first time, bringing it up to the latest technical standard and significantly increasing performance.

The engine was enlarged to 5.2 litres (5167 cm³). In the European version, the V12 with six Weber downdraft carburetors produced an impressive 455 hp (335 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. This enabled the Countach QV to reach a top speed of around 295 km/h and accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just under 5 seconds. The European cars retained the six Weber carburetors, while the U.S. models were fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and larger U.S.-spec bumpers to comply with DOT/EPA regulations.

Compared to its predecessor, the Countach LP 5000 S (1982–1985), which offered 375 hp from a 4.8-litre engine, the Quattrovalvole marked a major step forward: more displacement, modern four-valve technology, significantly higher output, and an even more aggressive throttle response.

Visually, the QV was distinguished by its new engine cover with the characteristic power bulge, necessary to accommodate the tall Weber carburetors.

Between 1985 and 1988, approximately 626 examples of the Countach Quattrovalvole were built, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after Countach variants today.

This Motor Car

This Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole *JLA12403* was completed on 27 June 1988. It was delivered in the rare and likely unique factory specification of Blu Tahiti (paint code 215854) with a white leather interior and dark blue carpets. From the factory, it was also equipped with white wheels and a sports exhaust system, further enhancing the character of this Countach. Out of just seven Countach Quattrovalvole built in Blu Tahiti, only four were delivered in European specification – making this car exceptionally rare even among its already limited peers.

Originally intended for a client in Saudi Arabia, the sale was cancelled before delivery. The car then remained unregistered for about eight years before eventually being sold through Autosalon Singen. Since new, the car has always remained in Germany.

Highlights of this example include its unique colour combination, its factory-fitted sports exhaust, and the presence of its original warranty documents with attachments. The car is in a very original condition, has been regularly serviced, and undoubtedly belongs among the most remarkable Countach Quattrovalvole ever delivered.

We act as an independent consultant, always on the side of the buyer or seller, and ensure that every decision is based on expert knowledge.

What kind of vehicles does Lemacc specialize in?

We focus on rare and classic sports cars with collector value, particularly models from brands such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Pagani, Porsche, but mainly vintage Lamborghinis.

Can Lemacc help me find a specific car?

Yes. Through our international network and archive, we can locate rare vehicles that are often not available on the open market. We also verify condition, pricing and provenance.

What does the consultation process include?

You receive a detailed assessment of the vehicle’s condition, value potential, and history. We also guide you through restoration decisions, price negotiation and market timing.

What is the commission for buying or selling a car through Lemacc?

The commission for buying or selling a vehicle through Lemacc is calculated as a percentage of the vehicle’s value and depends on the complexity of the transaction and the services required.

We provide full transparency upfront, so our clients are always informed about the fees before proceeding.

Why is originality so important in classic cars?

Original components and patina preserve the vehicle’s story and long-term value. Over-restored vehicles often lose historical authenticity and future appreciation potential.

We evaluate your car, manage professional presentation, and choose the right sales channel – whether private sale, auction or discreet off-market transaction.

Who handles international transport?
