1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster
Facts
Description
The Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster (466 units, 1996–2000) was first unveiled at the 1995 Bologna Motor Show and marked Lamborghini’s first production roadster with V12 engine. It was also the first new model under the company’s new ownership, setting a benchmark for open-top supercars.
The Diablo VT Roadster combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Its 5.7-liter V12 produces 492 hp, propelling the open-top sports car to over 320 km/h, while the manual gearbox actively engages the driver, demanding true driving skill.
A particularly innovative feature is the removable hardtop, which can be securely stored over the rear engine cover – a solution that allows three distinct visual appearances: roof in place, roof mounted over the engine, or completely removed. Other updates compared to the coupe include new doors with beveled glass, a modified engine and exhaust cover, enlarged air intakes behind the rear wheel arches, and new OZ wheels.
With its iconic Lamborghini design, V12 power, and all-wheel drive, the Diablo VT Roadster remains a symbol of uncompromising performance and Italian excellence.
This Motor Car
This Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster features the striking presentation colour combination: exterior in Rosso Targa with a Vinaccia & Fuchsia interior.
A total of 466 Diablo VT Roadsters were produced across all variants, with only about 10 cars ordered in this particular presentation colour combination.
This vehicle was delivered in Germany to Auto König near Munich on 16th May 1997 and handed over to its first owner, Mr. Buck, on 4th June 1997. He lived near the beautiful Bodensee in southern Germany and kept the car until 2000, shortly before it was exported to Japan. At the time, the market for European supercars was very strong, and many exotic cars found their way to Japan.
The car’s last owner in Japan, an American residing in Tokyo with his Japanese wife, purchased it in May 2015 from a well-known sports car dealer outside Tokyo and retained it until February 2023. The vehicle was then acquired by Lemacc and imported back to Germany.

We act as an independent consultant, always on the side of the buyer or seller, and ensure that every decision is based on expert knowledge.
What kind of vehicles does Lemacc specialize in?
We focus on rare and classic sports cars with collector value, particularly models from brands such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Pagani, Porsche, but mainly vintage Lamborghinis.
Can Lemacc help me find a specific car?
Yes. Through our international network and archive, we can locate rare vehicles that are often not available on the open market. We also verify condition, pricing and provenance.
What does the consultation process include?
You receive a detailed assessment of the vehicle’s condition, value potential, and history. We also guide you through restoration decisions, price negotiation and market timing.
What is the commission for buying or selling a car through Lemacc?
The commission for buying or selling a vehicle through Lemacc is calculated as a percentage of the vehicle’s value and depends on the complexity of the transaction and the services required.
We provide full transparency upfront, so our clients are always informed about the fees before proceeding.
Why is originality so important in classic cars?
Original components and patina preserve the vehicle’s story and long-term value. Over-restored vehicles often lose historical authenticity and future appreciation potential.
How does the selling process work with Lemacc?
We evaluate your car, manage professional presentation, and choose the right sales channel – whether private sale, auction or discreet off-market transaction.
